Ronald DiPasquale, Chief Risk Officer
Mr. DiPasquale is LNR’s Chief Risk Officer responsible for all elements of risk management. This includes the identification, quantification, monitoring, coordination and oversight of risk management policies and programs across LNR’s business groups.
Mr. DiPasquale has over 25 years experience trading and investing in real estate, mortgage and structured finance companies and assets. From 2002 to 2006, he was head of Mortgage-Backed trading at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. where he helped rebuild the Fixed Income division. He has been head of Global Fixed Income trading for Koch Industries, one of the largest private firms in the world and head of Commercial Mortgage Backed securities (CMBS) trading at Nomura Securities International, Inc. Mr. DiPasquale began his career at Salomon Brothers where he was member of the group that pioneered the securitized mortgage market and helped develop capital markets as a source of funds for housing and commercial real estate. Mr. DiPasquale holds a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Arizona.
Mark C. Miller, Chief Operating Officer
Mark Miller is responsible for the daily management and operations of all LNR European Divisions. He has over 15 years of active management experience with LNR and its predecessors, and has worked in or managed all functional business areas of LNR. From 1993 to 2002, Mr. Miller was based in LNR’s Atlanta office, where his primary responsibilities were commercial loan workouts, commercial real estate asset management, and acquisitions and development. From 1998 to 2002, he was responsible for the creation and management of LNR’s Eastern Region Acquisition and Development Team. During this period, LNR’s Eastern Region acquired and or developed over 24 projects with an overall asset value in excess of $800 million USD. In 2002, Mr. Miller moved to Europe in order to assist in the establishment of a European operation, which eventually became LNR Partners Europe. Mr. Miller’s responsibilities focused on acquisition of European commercial real estate, CMBS bonds, and mezzanine debt. From 2006 to 2007, Mark Miller was Vorstand (Managing Director) of a publicly listed German real estate company located in Frankfurt Germany. Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Accounting, and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989. Mr. Miller has an MBA from Georgia State University.
Jason Mann, Director
Jason Mann joined LNR Partners Europe in August 2003. He oversees all credit/real estate asset management decisions within the Investment Management group. Mr Mann’s primary focus is on the underlying real estate assets within the portfolio, which includes monitoring market fundamentals, changes in values, and changes in credit of the tenants. Prior to this role, Mr. Mann was responsible for all property and deal level underwriting for all deals associated with the acquisitions team in Europe. Mr Mann brings over 7 years of CMBS, financial, and special servicing analytical experience and has underwritten real estate assets in over 10 countries.
Prior to joining LNR, Mr Mann worked for Trimont Real Estate Advisors, formerly known as Hatfield Philips, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was a financial analyst for specially serviced commercial real estate loans. He was personally assigned a diverse portfolio of real estate assets that were valued at over $2.2 billion and assisted in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of loan work out strategies.
Mr Mann graduated from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, where he majored in International Business with a concentration in Real Estate.
Richard Spooner, Director
Richard Spooner joined LNR Partners Europe in February 2008 and jointly supervises the Investment Management group. Mr. Spooner analyses the fund’s rights under the various transaction documents, evaluates pre-default and post-default strategies for assets within the portfolio and manages fund disputes with borrowers, lenders and third party service providers. Mr. Spooner is also responsible for negotiation and documentation pertaining to loan amendments and waivers, debt finance facilities, hedging and other fund-related matters.
Prior to joining LNR, Mr. Spooner worked at Wachovia in its Real Estate Capital Markets Europe group, where his responsibilities included support for the CMBS and warehouse finance platforms, the sale and placement of B Notes and commercial mortgage loan origination. Prior to joining Wachovia, Mr. Spooner was an associate in the Capital Markets group of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. During his time at Cadwalader, Richard represented issuers, loan sellers and servicers on CMBS transactions in both the U.S. and Europe, and also acted for warehouse lenders in the negotiation of facility documents and in the financing of assets.
Mr. Spooner received his B.S. in Mathematical Economics, cum laude, from Wake Forest University and his J.D., with Honours, from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is a member of the North Carolina bar and is admitted to the roll of solicitors of England and Wales.
